The Amazing Spider-Man Video Game Trailer

At the Spike TV VGA last night, this full-length trailer debuted. And it looks surprisingly good. I know, shock horror.

Developed by Beenox and Activision, the aim is to bring the action back to the streets of New York City. The game is obviously a tie-in for the upcoming feature film. “Created as an epilogue story occurring entirely after the events of the movie, the game features the return of free-roaming web-slinging all over the city and evolutionary improvements to navigation and combat, as the newly anointed Spider-Man is plunged into an all-new storyline charged with protecting Manhattan from a variety of criminals.”

The story is by screenwriter Seamus Kevin Fahy (known for the Battlestar Galactica reimagining and Spartacus: Gods of the Arena) and it takes you all around (and under) the city of Manhattan. It’s impossible to say whether it will actually be any good at this point, but the trailer definitely shows a lot of promise.
