Adela and the Meanits – Kiss Me Frog
Yes, it’s a little “old”, but I don’t care, it’s a gem. I happened upon these talented individuals at the EleventyFour gig in the Workman’s club last Saturday and was pretty much blown away by their energy and musicianship. There was a wide-range of instruments on stage and Adela’s blues-y voice carries really, really (really) well live. Their sound is bouncy blues with some pop and jazz-soul thrown in for good measure. And that sentence doesn’t really capture their sound entirely. I love when you can’t quite describe the artist’s sound, makes them far more intriguing! Hailing from Laois, they’re some wonderful homegrown talent to boot. If you can see these folks live anywhere (you should be able to, they play a lot) you won’t be disappointed, they’re even more impressive live. Anyway, the song’s called Kiss Me Frog and it’ll give you a bit of an uplift in these dark, dingy (SUMMER! WHERE ARE YOU GONE?!) days. Enjoy and you’re welcome!
