The Muppets Pushes its Marketing Up a Notch

As The Muppets gears up for release on Wednesday, The New York Times today released a video of Kermit singing the opening tune to the movie with its composer Bret McKenzie. We heard titbits from the song in the clip that was released earlier in the month, but now we can hear the whole thing sung adorkably by Kermit and Bret – who you may know if you’re a fan of HBO’s Flight of the Conchords.

Jason Segel hosted Saturday Night Live this past weekend. In the opening monologue, he was joined by his co-stars from The Muppets. No, not Amy, the actual Muppets. Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzy, Gonzo, Rowlf and Scooter crashed the stage during his opening number. Kermit later joined Seth Meyers for spot entitled Really!?! With Seth and Kermit. Unfortunately due to some crappy law, the official NBC videos won’t work outside the US so you’ll have to make-do with this picture and your imagination. (Get it out of the gutter first, though)
