The official trailer for the upcoming Joss Whedon feature The Avengers has just surfaced online. I have to admit that my mind has officially nerdgasm’d to the point of blowing up. I always knew that Joss would bring something awesome to the table with this movie, but what little we can see in the trailer, it seems that he’s out-done himself. Things are blowing up, Loki’s waging war against the earth (which probably means blowing it up somehow) and Nick Fury puts together a bad-ass crew of superheroes to stop him. The special effects look pretty great, the script (and by script I mean what’s in the trailer) is very Joss. There’s humour and bad-assness side-by-side. So, overall it’s pretty great.
The movie is released summer 2012 and stars Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson.
Also can I just point out that Chris Hemsworth has somehow managed to get bigger. I know Thor’s a God and all, but jeebus he’s a bloody tank.
