Toy Story Short – Small Fry

A new Toy Story Toon will play in theatres with the release of the new Muppets movie. Directed and written by Angus MacLane (Director of the short BURN-E, animator on Toy Story 2, WALL-E, The Incredibles and lots of other Pixar movies), Small Fry is the second short to feature your favourite characters from the Toy Story series. In Small Fry, Buzz Lightyear gets left behind at a fast food restaurant and a 3-inch tall kids’ meal version of the space ranger takes his place. Whilst the rest of gang are stuck with the annoying teeny-weeny version of Buzz, the real one is stuck at the restaurant at a support group for discarded toys. The rest of the gang devise a way to rescue their poor friend and Buzz tries to escape the toy psychotherapy meeting.

Unfortunately you’ll have to wait until February 2012 until The Muppets is released here until you can see this short, unless you want to hop-foot it over to America too see it when it’s released for Thanksgiving.

Until then though, here’s a clip and a couple of screenshots (click to embiggen them!) – including one of the cute weeny version of Buzz!
