Marina and the Diamonds – New Single Announced

This morning the PopCultureMonster got an email from Marina – a it wasn’t really an email as such, it was merely an automated message from her promotion team. But it did have some interesting news. It told him that “I Am Not a Robot” is going to be her next single to be released next month – April 26th. The single will include many remixes, as did the last single “Hollywood”. The PopCultureMonster thinks this is a brave move by Marina as it is the song most of the original fans know, and love, from The Crown Jewels EP and releasing it as a single – AGAIN – signals a bit of laziness on the record company’s part. Why spend all that time going through the promotion of a new single when you can just re-release the old stuff? In the email Marina is quoted as saying “I’ve decided to release ‘I Am Not a Robot’ as my next single, as people seem to empathise and relate with the song, regardless of gender or age.” As much as we love the video, lets hope she records a new video to go along with it, or else it is definitely laziness.
