A bidding war ensued over the rights to the 2004 novel Charlie St Cloud by Ben Sherwood. Fast forward to 2010 and we’re seeing the release of the movie under Universal Pictures. With a cast including Zac Efron as Charlie, alongside Kim Basinger and Ray Liotta, this fantasy romance set for release in October this year. The story is a tentative piece about a young man’s struggle whether to upkeep a promise to a deceased younger brother, who, in spirit form, reminds him of the promise, or go after the girl he loves.
