The title probably says it all. It’s basically a retelling of the classic Shakespeare play but with gnomes. Directed by Shrek 2 director Kelly Asbury, the movie features the voices of James McAvoy as Gnomeo and Emily Blunt as Juliet with Ozzy Osbourne, Jason Statham, Maggie Smith, Michael Caine, Patrick Stewart, Julie Walters and Dolly Parton amongst others. The cast list is way too long to even list, and they’re all amazing!
Pop Culture Monster reckons it’s going to be the animated movie of the year, and if all else fails, it will teach some unsuspecting young ‘uns about the joys of Shakespeare! And look at it… we cannot wait for it. Dear 2011, please come soon!!!
